John Davies

John Davies has been and still is, one of our leading trainers at EPR year after year. He seems to have a knack with all different types of horses including overnight horses and stake entries.

John’s son Christopher and daughter Joanne are his biggest fans and are involved in the family business and the day to day operations. With the way that he is putting up the numbers again this year, we could see “Big John’s“ name on the year-end trophy for trainer of the year honors.

He passed the training whip on to his son Christopher who has been putting up as good or better numbers. ( See Chris' training profile )

John had a career year in 2006 as he was runner-up in Saint John in wins with 39 wins, and an impressive .325 training average.

Katahdin Country, a five-year old claiming pacer accounted for quite a few wins in 2006 as he captured seven wins on the season, and is always one of the favourites to take claimer of the year honors.

John has had some success with stake performers such as Camco Kyle who was three-year-old of the year at EPR in 2005 and was recently sold to U.S interests.
