
![]() More on Maritime Race DatesOnce again Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre will be the busiest track in Atlantic Canada in terms of days of racing for 2009. The PEI facility will stage 81 programs including the 50th running of the Gold Cup & Saucer, the 75th anniversary of the Prince Edward Island Colt Stakes and the Atlantic Breeders Crown. Both Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia will conduct 100 race programs over the year while the newly formed Horse Racing New Brunswick will stage 67. Fredericton Raceway will open the Atlantic Sires Stakes season with the three-year-old pacing fillies on May 16, the earliest ever opening of that stake program's season. That track will have 21 dates as opposed to 12 staged in 2008 while Saint John will have 42 days of racing.
